Dell Dimension wont start up

My Dell Dimension 4700 with windows xp wont start up. When i click power button to on the laptop the LED on laptop glows and it boots but after 8 to 10 second it get turns off automatically. What has happened and what is the solution?Can anyone help!!!

Did you also check all the cables inside the system?Turn off and unplug PC. Remove and replace every card in the system. Unplug and reconnect every cable in the system.

Unplug the power cable from the power supply in your computer and reinsert it. If you still have nothing, most likely a dead power supply or It's possible that you have RAM problems. If you have more than one RAM module in your system, try removing different modules and seeing if you can boot. If you can boot with one of them removed, you've found the bad module.

Booting problem is related with bad power supply, Power Light indicates many signals like Solid green > Power is on, and the computer is operating normally Blinking green > The computer is in the suspended state. Check this for more information : Advanced Troubleshooting

First chek battery back up.
then go for C-mouse setup if lap is not shut down prob. with win go for fresh installation os and if issue is same then prob with MBD. replaced it.
