Send A Test Fax to check a Fax machine

I have bought a new fax machine. Now I want a procedure here to setup a fax service in windows xp. I know there is a fax utility in windows. Then after setting up the fax machine how can I send a test fax to myself without bothering any one. Just ensure that the fax machine is properly receiving the fax. Thanks in advance.

Here is a simple solution for you. Just go on the internet and search for test fax numbers. There are multiple sites which offers you a free number. Just call them or send a fax to them they will send you back a free fax. This usually depends on the area where are you living. So better search the service for your local area.

I am listing you a complete procedure to setup and use windows fax service. You will have to install the service. There are two ways of doing this. First by putting windows xp disc and select install additional component and second from control panel. Just open control panel > add/remove > add/remove windows component. Select the Fax Service Check box. Then launch the fax programs from Accessories > communications. Go to the tools menu and click on configure fax. In the wizard click on next. On the sender page put your name and address and fax number. Select a device to send the fax. Then on TSID and CSID page enter your name and fax number.

You can send yourself a text fax if you have two telephone lines or a telephone line and a mobile. There are many third party mobile software's which helps you to send fax. Just configure them as per the above post and send your self a test fax. Sending fax from windows is very easy. Just open your document and click on print. Then select the fax option and send it.
