Sata hard drive & host Problems

My motherboard doesn't have sata ports,wanting to upgrade I bought a pci sata host that you can check out here:

it arrived in the mail I hooked it up to my 160gb western digital sata hard drive,but the hard drive does not show up in bios it does show up when I first start the pc but not in bios.
I installed the drivers for the pci sata host when windows says"press f6 if you need to install a third party scsi or raid driver"but it still doesn't see my hard drive.I also tried downloading and running the Data Lifeguard Tools 11.2 for DOS (Floppy) it see's the hard drive but bios/windos still dont.

^the site has bios updates and drivers but it wont let you download them not on my pc anyways.

I've been trying everything I can think of but it just wont read the hard drive in bios...any ideas??

You will not be able to see the hard disk in the bios. The reason is, the bios only has access and ability to see the basic I/O devices which are hardwired on the motherboard. The hard disk that you use is connected to the PCI SATA host and the PCI SATA host is not hardwired on the motherboard.

thanks,but do you have any idea why windows cant find it when I go to install xp?
