    Cox Cable Modem Connection Problem

    My computer is connected to Cox Cable Modem, it works when it is connected to ethernet means LED glows but when i try to connect RAS it shows error : There was a hardware failure in the modem. What do I need to do to fix this problem?

    This behavior can occur if any of the following conditions exists:
    • The modem is turned off or malfunctioning.
    • If you have an external modem, the serial cable is incorrectly wired.
    • If you have an external modem, the serial cable is not securely connected or has open connections.
    • The serial port or multiport adapter on the RAS server or client is malfunctioning.
    • The handshaking options for the modem are incorrectly configured.
    • The modem is unsupported, or the chosen emulation may be incorrect.
    • The modem .inf files become corrupted or the modem driver becomes corrupted.

    It sounds like it is a problem with cox modem. Try re-installing the driver provided. If this light is flashing slowly, the modem is searching for a cable connection. Try resetting the modem.
