Information on HP Laptoo dv9000 series recall

I had purchased a HP dv9000 Laptop a year before. My wireless is not working from sometime. And also now i got broken screen of my laptop. It is bending towards the left portion. I do not understand the reason behind these. I just discovered that HP has recall for the wireless and other issues related to HP dv series laptop. I don't know much about it. Is anyone has repaired his laptop in the recent time. Is it true that they are providing a free repair service.

It is correct that HP is providing a free service repair. But it only for limited modes. It is for HP Pavilion dv9000, dv9100, dv9200 and dv9400. Luckily you have one of them. The notebook of this series have been identified with a hard flaw at the time of manufacturing. You hinge on the left side is broken that is why the lid is bending. You will have to send the laptop to HP service center. They fix it up and resend it back in next 7 to 8 working days.

HP is providing a very limited service program only for specific notebooks sold in USA and Canada. You laptop is eligible for a free repair. First your hinge of the left portion of lid is broken and secondly your wireless is gone off. You lid issue is due to the hardware flaw and your wireless is going because of overheating of motherboard. It is a manufacturing problem. You can contact your nearest HP service provide or log in to the HP website. The owner will be given a free shipping and post service warranty for the hinge.

It is not a recall. HP is extending a standard one year warranty. Basically it is the error from the manufacturing side. Your hinge and wireless will be repair free of cost. Many people are affected by this problem recently. This is problem only related to the dv9000 models. Go to the HP website and look for the customer support coloumn. Contact you service center and send then your notebook.
