ThinkPad R52 shows wireless switch off

I have a IBM ThinkPad R52 PC Notebook. These days, I am facing a strange issue with my thinkpad in which I am unable to connect any wireless network. Even after turning on the switch button, it shows as if the wireless capability is turned off when I click Repair. What should I do ??

Do you have Windows Service Pack 2 installed in your system ? Windows SP 2 is a known problem causer for wireless connections.
If that's the case, then start removing the updates one at a time.

check whether the ethernet drivers are installed or not from device manager ?
If not, you can easily download new version of drivers from the IBM site..

I am also facing same problem. The SWITCH is ON and and shows light up - the internet will also be connected fine and then all of a sudden drop. Then, it will take long time for the diagnostics to finally tell to turn on my wireless - I need to restart it then.
