    Try a repair permissions

    2) Repair Permissions all information: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1452?viewlocale=en_US
(it is sometimes necessary to repeat 3 times)

    Method No. 1
    To boot into "single-user mode:
    1) Restart the computer (by pressing the reset button if necessary).
    2) Immediately after the startup sound, simultaneously press the Apple key and "S" ... A series of text lines on the screen ... Release the keys .... And you get to a line ending with the famous above-mentioned symbol (#).
Bravo! You are then single-user mode! You will now finally able to run fsck 1. Simply type this after the # symbol: fsck-y (if your partition is not logged) or fsck-f (if your partition is logged) and the "send" (the large button with the arrow that is half - tour, called "carriage return").
NB: Leave a space between "k" of fsck and the "-" below!
    2) Let's go for a test series and "turn of the screw." If repairs are needed, you will have this message:

***** FILE SYSTEM WAS MODIFIED *****

In this case retype fsck-y (or fsck-f) until the message appears more!
    and repeat three time
    3. When fsck tells you that everything is ok, there are no more problems after three times, then type this after the # symbol: reboot
    4. the "carriage return" (sending). The computer restarts !!!!.

NB: Be careful! When you are "single-user mode, your computer keyboard is no longer AZERTYUIOP but QWERTY is to typing fsck-f -y/fsck, use the right keys!! Use the "-" (minus) on the numeric keypad.
To help, here's what has a QWERTY keyboard

Put simply, this is not the dash button, but just to his left, close the parenthesis

    Warning!
Well type fsck-y and not y = fsck because your keyboard is "qwerty" rather than "azerty" in "user" (use "-" key on the numeric keypad!)

NB: The command fsck-y does not work unless you disable journaling.
If logging is enabled, then type fsck-f instead of fsck-y!

    Repair method No. 2
Restarting from your installation CD in apple pressing C at startup, and choose Disk Utility. (this is long)

    3) Repair the disk by starting with the installation CD by pressing the C button to use the Disk Utility

    4) Reset the pram and nvram

    All info: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379?viewlocale=en_US

    1. Turn off the computer.
    2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P and R. You'll need to keep these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    3. Turn on the computer.
    4. Press Command + Option + P + R. You must press these buttons before the onset of gray.
    5. Hold the keys down until the computer reboots and the startup sound is heard for the second time.
    6. Release the keys.

PRAM and NVRAM of the computer are now reset to default settings.
On some models, the settings of the clock may have been reset to a default date.
Reset the power manager on the PowerBook and iBook computers

In some troubleshooting situations, if resetting the PRAM does not solve the problem, reset the Power Manager may be the appropriate next step. To learn more about the circumstances where such action is appropriate and the procedure to reset the Power Manager on a PowerBook computer, see Resetting the Power Management Unit (PMU) of the PowerBook and iBook.

    5) Start by turning off extensions (Safe Mode)

    Full details: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564?viewlocale=en_US
    1. If the computer is turned on, shut it down.
    2. Press the power button.
    3. Immediately after the startup tone, press the Shift key and hold until "Starting extensions off" appears.

At the end of the procedure, restart your computer normally. Select Restart the Apple menu and do not press any keys.
