    Hard Drive Duplication

    Hello everyone,
Here is my problem, I have to replace the HDD from my PC undertaken by greater HDD. How do I do that? I know, but when we use GHOST to restore a ghost partition, it repartitioned the new hard drive with the size of the old hard drive. Thank you for helping me out.

You can clone or backup your drive.

you can even backup a Dell computer and restore it to HP or IBM computer

I use it to make images of my STD desktop installs. i can deploy a single image to any type of computer in my place and it will work just fine. Ghost cant do that

If you feel comfortable, change the jumper settings so that the pc's hdd is now a slave in the new pc.

I have a way around this situation. You could just attach a second hdd in your pc and copy the essential data that way instead of the other way around.

I hope I've answered you soon enough. Thank you for asking.

It all depends on what you have available. You can use a different PC to ghost between the drives. Also using an external USB HDD enclosure will make the hard drive available without using your IDE controller. (Important to make sure that the HP's BIOS can actually regognise the large HDD. A BIOS upgrade might help you here.) You can even do it over the network - but in this case the other options will be much faster and easier.
