How to resolve DVD Drive Error Code 10/19 for windows vista?

Guys Help Me!
Recently my DVD-RW stopped showing in My computer. When i checked it in the Device manager, it is shown there with a yellow exclamation mark. i tried to re-install the drivers by unistall then scan for hardware changes, there it detects the DVD-RW but it shows me error 10/19. Please help guys! i'm screwed!

Download the latest firmware and try to update it. This might help you! Even the windows driver might be corrupt, so install the driver manually from the windows CD/DVD. Or the windows OS might be corrupt, try to repair your windows OS. Hope this works for you...! All the best!

Try the registry tweak method to stop the error so that you can use your DVD writer again.

Type the following code in notepad :

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]
"UpperFilters"=-
"LowerFilters"=-

Now save the file as NoFilters.reg
Then double click to add the registry to your Windows OS, then click when prompt for confirmation. Now reboot your computer. This might solve your problem. If you dont want to make the registry file yourself, Download the attached zip file then extract it on your computer and then add to your registry. All the best!

Hey Rudra.J, Thanks for your Solution, it worked like a charm for my problem.
I can now use my DVD-RW as a brand new one.
But is this kind of registry tweak safe for the DVD-RW and computer?
Will it have any effect on my hardware or performance of the hardware?
