Well I have recently connected my front audio on the motherboard
I don't know about your motherboard but i just inserted the thin wire coming from the front panel on the motherboard where a socket written as USB was available & i got my front USB working!
I will have a look at your model of motherboard & let you know!
Between Be careful with your cabinet & the sockets you need to look if you can easily insert the pin on the socket if not then something is wrong!
Never try hard with such small pins & sockets!

It also depends on your haed drive rpm speed at which it can copy or paste data's.

This Device can perform faster if you connect to a high speed USB ports.
This means you have a USB 2.0 device plugged into a 1.1 interface. As a result it'll perform slower than it could. To turn off this feature:

    1. Right click My Computer and select Manage.
    2. Go to Device Manager.
    3. Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers icon.
    4. Select the Properties of any USB Universal Host Controller.
    5. Select the Advanced tab.
    6. Check the box: "Don't tell me about USB errors."

Most of the older machines are manufactured with all 1.1 interfaces. So it's also not just a matter of plugging into a different port on your machine, chances are they're all the same. This happens if you have purchased a newer USB 2.0 device and plug it in.

If you are also using such a machine with USB 1.1 interfaces the only real alternative is to purchase a USB 2.0 add-in card. The USB ports provided by that card will be the higher speed 2.0 and thus it should solve your problem.

    sad

what is the cost of that PCI to USB 2.0 card....??

will it improve my data transfer speed ?

coz when i copy something from my DVD (size 4.2 GB) to HDD it hardly takes 5 min. but when i try to copy a single file (size 700 MB)from my pendrive to HDD it takes almost 15 min.

On Rediff shopping, it costs around Rs. 400 + shipping Rs. 35. However you can search it somewhere else or may check it with your supplier also.

And yeah it will improve your data transfer speed while copying files from pen drive to HDD. The thing here is if you were having USB 1.1 before and now you are using USB 2.0, if this is the case then only you will feel the difference.
