How to scroll folders from left to right

Well I have this silly question In my mind from a long time and so that’s why I have decided to share it with you all. Actually I wanted to ask is it possible to scroll the folders from left to right when they are in the list view. We can scroll it from up to down but I have no idea whether we can scroll it sideways. So I thought you all may be knowing it. I have a Linux operating system and also I am new to this particular operating system. So if you are having any idea then do share it with me.

Well you can definitely do that if you have the side scroll function enabled in your mouse. What you have to do is to check the bottom of the page and try with the scroll function and gently scroll to the left right side direction of the page. If your mouse supports side scroll function then it will definitely scroll to the right side. You can try the same with the touch pad of the laptop. So hope you have got the solution.

Hey talking about your suggestion. You have said to check if the side scroll function of the mouse or the touch pad should be present. I wanted to ask how to confirm whether such functions are present or not. I have a Compaq laptop and I use a touch pad. I am not interested in using the external mouse for my laptop. So can you give me some steps to check whether such function is enabled or not. Do reply as soon as possible.

Well let me confirm you that the touchpad’s function varies with the different laptops. So it is not a easy task. However you can do this one thing do follow these steps and let me know if it has worked with you or not
    1) First go to the menu
    2) Then go to the preferences and select the mouse as the option.
    3) After that select the touchpad tab and check whether edge and horizontal scrolling are enabled.
So ensure this steps are worked out and let me know the outcome.

Hey thanks for the solution. I have followed your steps and it has worked out for me. Actually I had some problem with the touchpad and so I inserted the external mouse in my laptop, did some settings in the control panel and worked on it. Happy to see that its working fine. Now I can scroll my folders in the desktop sideways also. So thanks a lot for the efforts that you have put in to solve my issue.

That is quite a unique topic, though I also knew one way of doing it a that was with the horizontal scroll bar. Got a good idea of it.
