Television Gadget won't work..

hello all,

i use widows vista and recently caught a virus. Prior to that I had used a gadget that can be found at this page at the gadgets site:

It worked fine. When my buddy reinstalled after the virus, He used a completely different antivirus, if that makes any difference.(avast! Antivirus) I'm still using a firewall from windows and now I get nothing. Any opinions

I dont think that your system got infected due to the gadget. Your best option would be to revert back to a time when everything was working fine by using system restore. Open System Restore by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking System Tools, and then clicking System Restore. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

I cant do a system restore because i have already re-loaded the system with a new copy of vista. I sincerely believe its my firewall thats preventing the program from working.

Alright, how did you install new OS on your hard drive, did you repair install or did you completely wiped out the hard drive and then installed the OS? I guess you had repaired install therfore some part in the hard drive or some system files might be corrupted on your computer. Try to scan your pc again with some good antivirus software, also you can right click on teh application and unblock it and then install the application again without any problem.
