Softwares to customize Ubuntu

Hey Guys, I've been using ubuntu 9.04 for a long time only. I need to change some looks and hance looking for some customizing software. Can anyone suggest me Softwares to customize Ubuntu? Thanks in advance...

Well, the best option i would suggest is installing other Desktop environments. You can use XFCE, the best is KDE 4.2. It has a very eye catchy GUI but a bit difficult to understand if you are a first time user. The Plasma which comes with KDE 4 is best.

You can use Cairo Dock or Avant Window Navigator, these software allows you to customize your Ubuntu Operating System the way you want it to look... Nice and simple to use...

If you want the plasma look without installing KDE desktop environment, you can just install the plasma package and add it to start up. You can download it from ubuntu's repository package directory list...

I think i should install KDE 4 to get full featured GUI change. Will try the software before switching to KDE and will post back... Thanks for the replies guys...
