    NoActiveDesktopChanges with Vista

    Hello!

Under XP the registry key NoActiveDesktopChanges allowed to block the change in the screen.

But under Vista active desktop no longer exists and I'd like to find a registry key to block me again the change of the screen.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello,

In Vista, the key question to disable change wallpaper is:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop

If the subkey does not exist ActiveDesktop, you must create it:
Right-click on Policies -> New -> Key, you appointed ActiveDesktop

Then you click on ActiveDesktop, and in the right pane, you do a right-click an empty space -> New -> DWORD Value 32-bit
You call this value NoChangingWallPaper ownership of you and 1 for Value data.

You close the session, then you re-open.
Now in Personalization, heading desktop background is hidden and no longer appears.
To restore, you assigned 0 for the Value data NoChangingWallPaper and you restart the session to complete the change.

If you do not understand everything, tell me I'll make some screenshots.

    Hello.

Here is a small file to create safe this key:
In a Blocnotes (All Programs-Accessories) you copy and paste what is below.

In format, be sure to remove the check mark to Wrap.
Make a carriage return (Enter) after the last line.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    Code:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop]
    "NoChangingWallPaper" = dword: 00000001
In File, Save As, all the files on the desktop you registered under the name fix.reg
If the file is called fix.reg.txt you rename it by deleting. Txt to the end

Then you right click on this file, you choose Merge and you accept.

    Its done !!!!
