    unsure upgrade GeForce4 MX 420

    I run a 5-year old DELL machine with Win XP Pro (SP2) and got a new Sceptre monitor. Tried to download driver update from Invidia, but still show a 2004 date--
    Not having a large amount of technical knowledge, can I upgrade to a better driver (no gaming...) on my desktop?
    Grateful for any comments. Thank you!

    As your machine is 5 year old. it may me possible that nvidia has stop updating its drivers in 2004 only for your specific graphics card sometimes it happens when all the bugs in drivers are sorted out. companies usually stop updating drivers for that specific model. if you can tell us the exact model no of graphics card. i may be able to help you a bit more.

    Thanks Maddox (do you pitch well, also??}

    It's Invidia GeForce MX 420 (Microsoft Corporation)
    Version 4.17.00.45.42

    Probably too old to be remembered?
    Can I install a better videocard without me ruining the computer (with my limited experience in tech area)??

    Probably smarter to get a new setup taht also features everything more up-to-date. All acceesories work well and all installed software functions OK.

    I appreciate your reply and thank you a lot.
