| Windows Photo Gallery
I recently installed the updated Windows Live, including Windows Photo Gallery and how I wish I hadn't! Ever since the installation I keep getting a box on the screen saying that the system is configuring Photo Gallery and then that it can't find the file "Photo Gallery.msi" and asking me to locate it. Well I don't have it and my PC (running XP Medai Centre) doesn't have it and never needed it before I installed Windows Photo Gallery, so why doesn't Windows have it. I've uninstalled Windows Live and Windows Live Photo Gallery but I keep getting the same messages on the screen. I've also run the Windows Installer debug software, but that dowsn't help either. I've seen earlier correspondence on similar subjects and reference to HP Printer software causing the problem, but I don't have an HP printer, so that hasn't caused my problem. I don't need Windows Photo Gallery, I was very happy with Picasa, but I can't use Picasa without these annoying Photo Gallery warning appearing. Please can someone tell me how to get rid of this problem and Windows Photo Gallery for ever?!! |

See if you have a restore point that is older than the date you installed Photo Gallery. I have a similar problem with Media Player 11. I get a constant error message and rolling back to 10 will not cure it--a restore does. -- Regards Ron Badour MS MVP 1997 - 2008 "Merlin" <Merlin@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:B582E0A9-E6B4-443A-AD09-5E0ABF8B0B65@microsoft.com... >I recently installed the updated Windows Live, including Windows Photo > Gallery and how I wish I hadn't! | Re: Windows Photo Gallery
Want to get rid of it? Do this: 1. Downoad "Live Photo Gallery.msi" and save it: http://cid-e62cbf8cec54d9b8.skydrive...%20Gallery.msi (Rename to "Photo Gallery.msi") 2. Download and install "Revo Uninstaller" (Free) Info: http://www.revouninstaller.com/ Download: http://www.revouninstaller.com/revosetup.exe 3. Install (yes again) "Photo Gallery.msi" 4. Open "Revo Uninstaller" and find "Photo Gallery" (it may have a different name) 5. Revo will clean all traces of "Photo Gallery" 6. Open Picassa to test. ju.c "Merlin" <Merlin@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:B582E0A9-E6B4-443A-AD09-5E0ABF8B0B65@microsoft.com... >I recently installed the updated Windows Live, including Windows Photo > Gallery and how I wish I hadn't!
