Please Help I'm having Major problems with Windows Mail

I have a new computer.

Yesterday I was sending and receiving emails with no problems.

Today, I can't do either.

I get the following message:

Account: 'pop.ntlworld.com', Server: 'pop.ntlworld.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR invalid user name or password.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

It keeps asking for my username and password. When I fill them in, it clears and asks for them again.

I have cleared everything and re-installed, but with no effect.

I have turned off AVG email scanning, with no effect.

I get 400 emails per day.

Help urgently required, please.

If you have Windows Vista then the problem can be fixed by renaming a folder of Windows Mail. The problem occurs when you did not put a tick on remember password column. Just tick on it. And if it is grayed out then open Windows Explorer. Then open Docum.. & Sett...\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Protect. In this you will see a long name folder. Just rename it to anything. Then restart your system. Launch Windows Mail put the password and id.

With outlook express If you are getting this error then it may be due to the user name or password problem but it is not an outlook issue. else for more check here Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92 and here

I tried the various options without success.

However, another thread suggested that I disable my anti-virus and re-install removing the option to scan my email. Followed up by removing my email accounts and re-installing them.

This appears to have worked.

I say appears, because it previously worked for a couple of days before throwing a wobbly.
