When i was trying to fix the problem its showing error 39. how can i fix it?
What has happened and what is the solution? Can anyone help!!!
Re: Unable to detect DVD drive
hi,
Try uninstalling the DVD drive from the device manager then reboot your computer, windows should automatically detect drive and install the driver. Also you could try checking the BIOS if your DVD drive is being detected. If not try to reseat the cables of the drive then test it again.
Re: Unable to detect DVD drive
hi,
This problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.
Re: Unable to detect DVD drive
Follow this step to if the CD\DVD drive is not detected in XP..
- Click start
- Right click on My Computer
- Click on properties
- U will get the system property window.
- Now click on the Hardware tab.
- Click on the device manager button.
- Click on the plus sign on the CD-DVD Rom drive properties
- U will be having the sub options.
- If the CD-DVD drive name is listed normal with no special icons
- It means that windows is detecting the drive but the writing software does not
- So the first step is to uninstall and reinstall the CD\DVD wrting software.
i hope problem will slove:thumbup1:

It might be some times the problem with the lens of te dvd drive. Try cleaning the dvd drive's lens.
Re: Unable to detect DVD drive
First of all you can detect your dvd drive in BIOS. When in bios you can detect dvd drive then no problem with any cable like powercable and data cable then if your problem not solve then your dvd rom has been corrupted then check your dvd drive lense.
