Computer does not detect CD-RW drive

Hi,

Recently I have purchased DVD/CD-RW drive. When I put DVD inside I can hear it spinning, but I don't think the computer is recognizing the DVD (nor does it in the device manager). I am no able to run any DVD. I have tried it many DVD"s but the problem is the same.

Any help would be greatly appriciated, thank you.

See if the system detects DVD/CD-RW drive in BIOS . But then you said that they are not being detected, so we assume they were working and this is not a simple problem of you setting .
