Another major benefit of the WR1100 is its modularity — the ability to change the functions for the device by merely replacing a module. If the user wishes to switch from a GPS receiver to a GPRS module, for example, this can be done through a simple, plug-and-play, hot swap operation. The battery module can also be easily removed and replaced in the field with hot swapping functionality.

The unit integrates a number of innovative features, including 802.11 and Bluetooth/Zigbee interfaces, a GPS receiver, electronic compass, biometric fingerprint sensor, and a tilt-and-dead reckoning system that detects the position of the user's arm and sets the system to standby mode when the arm is hanging down beside the body. The wearable PC can be configured for specific missions by replacing a mission specific module. If the user wishes to switch from a GPS receiver to a GPRS module, for example, this can be done through a simple, plug-and-play, hot swap operation. The battery module can also be easily removed and replaced in the field with hot swapping functionality.

While browsing this thread I remember the article of an amazing technology I've read recently, human and computer hybrids have been a theoretical possibility, but not a real likelihood. However, experts have introduced, Two new developments bring biological computing closer than ever. According to it, medical science is especially interested in the possibility, as programmable, biologically neutral computers would be able to improve diagnostics. Medical science is not the only use for these developments, but it is sure to be one of the first uses. It's a start. I can't wait to see what's gonna happen in the next 5 yrs.

That really looks cool. Based on Linux kernel 2.6 you can easily manage your task with. This one is sure a geek toy not for the regular users. Because working on such small screen on linux is not a easy task. Also such hybrid computers are only designed for some specific purpose only. You cannot take full advantage out of it.
