Slacker, Inc., today announced the availability of the Slacker G2 Personal Radio Player, the next generation of the world’s only completely portable Personal Radio player. The Slacker G2 gives music lovers the freedom to listen to their favorite Slacker Radio stations on a full-featured portable player, wherever they go – even when not connected to any network.

Slacker Personal Radio, available online at www.slacker.com, enables listeners to personalize over 100 expertly programmed stations and create, edit and share their own Personal Radio stations. Slacker listeners also have easy access to artist profiles, album reviews and cover art within the Slacker Web Player and on their Slacker Personal Radio Players.

The same Slacker Personal Radio experience listened to by millions is now completely portable with the Slacker G2 Personal Radio Player. Slacker’s patent-pending radio delivery network automatically downloads and continuously refreshes thousands of personally selected songs on each device, and turns them into personalized radio stations – all for free. Because the players don’t have to be connected to Wi-Fi to play, Slacker G2 owners can listen to CD quality, personalized radio everywhere they go.

Personalized music is automatically delivered to the Slacker G2 without having to manage playlists, research new artists or deal with complicated software. The Slacker G2 does all of the work – just plug in headphones and listen to the perfect music experience wherever you are.

There is no subscription required for Slacker G2 owners to access the extensive Slacker online music library, artist profiles, album reviews and large cover art. The Slacker library of millions of songs from all genres and eras ensures that music lovers can enjoy radio stations ranging from music of the golden-era classics to today’s hottest hits.

"The Slacker G2 makes personalized radio ultra portable," said Dennis Mudd, CEO of Slacker. "It lets you listen to the music you love everywhere you go, without having to work at it."

Whether listeners choose from more than 100 expertly programmed Slacker stations, over 10,000 artist stations, or their own custom-created stations, the Slacker G2 provides an unparalleled music discovery and listening experience without the need to manage playlists or download and transfer individual songs. Easily accessible "Favorite" and "Ban" buttons provide for quick personalization of each station while listening to the Slacker G2.

Battery life is said to be extended by another 25%. You can choose from 4GB or 8GB models that will retail for $200 and $250, respectively, with the ability to buffer from 25 to 40 Internet radio stations while providing additional space to store your own MP3/WMA/AAC tracks. You can also subscribe to premium radio in three-, six-, and 12-month subscriptions ranging from $30 to $90.

The basic capacity has also gone up with the G2 refresh. A 4GB version at $200 is large enough to buffer 25 Internet radio stations and provides room for about 1GB of the user's own AAC, MP3 and WMA songs. Picking an 8GB, $250 player ups the buffer space to 40 stations and triples the personal usage space to 3GB. At present, Slacker continues to officially support USB music loading only on Windows PCs but supports all its Wi-Fi features for both Macs and Windows PCs.
