Temporary license for windows server 2008

I am going to bought a windows server 2008 64-bit from the vendor. He provided me a temporary license in between three days of placing the order and the actual and verified license within 3 to 4 weeks.

As per the suggestion of vendor, the temporary license and the actual provided license are similar and we are able to work with the operating system properly without any restrictions (including windows updates). I just needed to be sure that if this way is going feasible and there will be no further problems .

Re: Temporary license for windows server 2008

I am running with the installation of Windows 2003 system as a license server and two Windows 2000 servers working on Terminal Services. For some causes I am unable to fathom, the license server will only problem temporary licenses. If I executes the licmgr.exe,..

I have worked around such type of issues on the clients (probably Wyse Winterms, and the occasional computer) by regularly cleaning the license store with either SNMP or a remote script. Any suggestion regarding the procedure to resolve the underlying issue though or what may be the causes for this to be occurred ?

The issue that you have explained here is seems as you have not activated your license server. It will only the problem with the temporary licenses validity and that is defined for 120 days. There is some issues with your activation process. You have to go through the proper procedure to activate the license and that would be helpful for you , go to the official site of Microsoft and find out the procedure to perform the activation .

The problem that is reporting supposed to resolved within the SP1 and later, but I got such type of problem over and over again. If the registry entry it needs you to edit does not exist then make the same as the DWORD and configure this with per user or per device.
