There might be many reasons for this including PSU, loose cables, overheating, any hardware failure, etc.. You will need to check all these one by one. For more info on this problem, you should check out some threads like:

This is probably seemed to be the problem with the BIOS. If you want to resolve the problem then you will have to update the BIOS in your computer to the latest version of it available. There might be some other reasons for this but it is one of the most possible reasons for this. I wish that this will solve the issue for you.

    Hi,
I am faced an unusual problem that my PC is suddenly getting off while I was surfing (ie. no shut down )
Last I remember I shifted my HDD from SATA2 to Gigabyte SATA2(GSATA2) connector and I also over clocked in which my system booted after which I am facing this problem .
Then I checked my event and log and found that it had a microsoft windows hal "error"

I also ran a diagnostics check by inserting the windows CD and it showed that
    "HARDWARE PROBLEM DETECTED ."
AND TO REPAIR U SHOULD CONTACT YOUR MANUFACTURER
I also tried to repair but repair failed
now please tell me what the problem is exactly and what I should do .

    re: Suddenly PC Turned OFF

Since you have mentioned that you had shifted your Hard Disk from SATA2 to Gigabyte SATA2(GSATA2) connector so I think that there could be some kind of a loose connection that might have been left unknowingly from your side and that is the reason why even after inserting the Windows CD you are getting HARDWARE PROBLEM, so I think that this problem is surely due to loose in the connection of the hard disk and that is why I suggest you to check each and every connection properly before setting up the system to run.

I think that you could try to adjust the RAM voltage because it might be too low. Also could you tell us what is the temperature of your computer, how hot it is getting? You would want to check each stick of memory module in your pc and find out which is giving problem. Best bet for you would be to change the memory, as it is the sole problem that you are getting.

my CPU temp.is within 55C and cabinet temp.is around 50C
and I have shifted my HD from GSATA to SATA

ram voltage is 1.5 as told by GSKILL
and in PC HEALTH I can see the voltage to be 1.536

can u also tell me a software by which I can pinpoint the problem of my ram so that it is easy for me in case or replacement .As it is just 1 year I have bought the system

I am doing the memtest86+ (still running )
    I showed me 2 problems

Tst PASS FAILING ADDRESS GOOD BAD Err-bits Count
    4 1 000745072c0-1861.0MB 8cdaf540 8cdaf140 00000400 1
    4 1 000549072c0-1353.0MB c526446c c526406c 00000400 2

    re: Suddenly PC Turned OFF

usually anything above 0 errors is bad news.

if the errors appear after a long run, it might be related to heat, and not faulty ram at all.

    check for temperature issues.
