ATI has no problem of availability for the GDDR5 memory

"Despite the suspension of production on the part of Qimonda, according to ATI, the market availability will be provided by Samsung and Hinyx"

Despite the difficult situation in Qimonda AG, the suspension of business, AMD / ATI is confident that there will be no impact on the market about the availability of GDDR5 memory and, consequently, there will be setbacks to the availability ATI product to use these types of memories.

According to AMD, Qimonda, although playing a major role in the production of GDDR5 memory, the other players in the industry, Hynix and Samsung, will answer the question of GDDR5 chips.

Most of the ATI Radeon HD 4870 and the latest Radeon HD 4890 using GDDR5 memory manufactured by Qimonda, but despite this from ATI ensure that there are several problems: "Since the launch of ATI Radeon HD 4870 in June last year We have worked with three manufacturers of memory - Qimonda, Hynix and Samsung - to make sure we have multiple suppliers of GDDR5 memory. We have checked the availability of GDDR5 mindful on the market and, whatever happened to Qimonda, these memories are available in quantities sufficient to respond to our needs, "said David Cummings, head of marketing solutions for discrete ATI.

Adequate availability of GDDR5 memory is very important for ATI, since from the next few months, those statements will be used on economic-end cards. In other words, a large proportion of products with which ATI can do higher volumes of sales (and revenues) will be closely linked to the availability of GDDR5 memory.

AMD does not have a single provider DDR5, then I think they have quite a few stock last with them..GDDR5 is also one of the newer technology they are having.

The problem is that ATI does not get any popularity to these cards and even though they sell so few cards that not even notice.....
