    Mic issues with Satellite L305D-S5900

I have Satellite L305D-S5900 laptop. During gameplay, I can hear others voice perfectly but no one can hear me. If I connect external mic to it, it works and others can hear me but as soon as I remove it my internal mic is left undetected. It doesn't appear in the list. What can be done to solve this problem?

Did you tried uninstalling the device from the Device Manager and then reinstalling the same manually? Also try to uninstall the current driver that are still running on the computer and then reinstall the latest audio drivers from the manufacturer's site. Also make sure the driver that you are installing is compatible with your operating system. And do install the latest updates using Windows Update to make sure you have not missed any of the latest packs for your device.

Looking at your post, it seems to me you might not be having the internal mic on your motherboard. However to check, go to Start - All Programs - Accessories - Sound Recorder. Click Start Recording and speak something in front of your computer. Once finished, click on Stop Recording. Save this in a file and play it some media player. If you can hear something from it then you have a built-in mic, otherwise you must use external microphone for voice communication.

In support of pddaugusto, I would like to add some points here. Now-a-days almost each laptop have a built-in webcam as well as a microphone. However, this doesn't mean that your laptop do contains it. So if you do not have a webcam by default on the top of your screen, then there chances that you don't even have an internal microphone.

I think there should be an inbuilt microphone somewhere placed on the laptop. Just look for it on the lid of the laptop above the screen near the latch release button. It should be in a small rectangular shape hole. Although it is meant to be used specifically with webcam but there is no necessity that you should have it along with the microphone.
