Serial number of my SSD doesn't match

Recently i have purchased a brand new Intel x25-m 80G retail version. After removing the device from the box i noticed that the serial number which is mentioned at the back of the device and also the serial number on the box did not match. what is the problem or both these numbers are different. Please help me.

As far as i know i think that the serial number for your device is an 18 characters long string which starts with the alphabets CV followed by fourteen other Numberic values and ended with the alphabet GN. I am using the OEM version. This version has some other 10 character with other 18 character serial numbers.

Yesterday, during a game my screen froze and I had a blue screen and after that my system would not start (Read disk error). I put a boot cd to restore a system image and as I saw that my ssd was detected and I could browse the tree, I decided to reboot my pc to test one last time before restoring. and my system rebooted correctly. Alas after quarter of an hour I had a new blue screen and there no way to restart and more SSD is not even recognized by my BIOS. Can you help me? My SSD is he dead?

We just have to disable the option in the BIOS. Risk of data loss. I bring still greater precision, this afternoon I had time to plug it into another pc and I get to sail it well, so my SSD is not dead but still against it when I plant windows on the desktop and then I can not boot at all. I'm just a user like you. but if we can help in the meantime why not . If you reinstall yes you lose everything unless you have another windows (or linux) and you save your Data Also if you are using a new or a second ssd device it would be better to get that device copy this on the new Solid State Drive.

I was facing this problem too with my Intel Solid state Drive but After a complete reinstallation of my system (64bit and migration to seven), my SSD no longer crashes and the system is stable. Sorry for posting this late. But this should definitely help you to get rid of this problem. Thanks in Advance.

You can deal with your dealer or contact us by your retailer. If your dealer agrees to let you exchange it will cost probably less expensive than sending it to Intel for repairing also this will take sometime so the best method would be to get this SSD Exchanged. Otherwise you can approach the consumer forum.
