This totally depends on the mouse model and the system model. If it do not matches up well it will give problems and may lead to such issues. You can then make the compatibility feature under check. There is a issue that relates to he kind of system that you are trying to use the device. The device may be advanced and the system may not be upgraded. So check for the same. This is the reason your mouse gives problems while connecting.

You can use a system restore option in order to make the things work properly. This has to be followed as:

    1) Click on the start button.
    2) Go to Programs option and select accessories.
    3) Go to system tools.
    4) Select the System restore option.
    5) Here you need to set to points.
    6) Set the date according to which it used to work well.

This will then set the system accordingly.

Well troubleshooting the motherboard drivers is a must need in such case. Upgrade the Bios version by flashing it. Then troubleshoot the device via cmos. Go to the Advanced cmos setup and choose the usb deice through which the mouse is been attached to the system. Then enable the option given in the following parameters. Save the configuration and then reboot your system.
