How to Reinstall HP 4200c scanner

Hi,

Well, I have HP 4200c scanner and yesterday due to some problem it was not responding. So I was thinking of uninstalling and then reinstalling my hp 4200c scanner, which I hope should fix the problem. But I dont want to try myself all alone.

Can anybody please provide me the instructions on how to reinstall HP 4200c scanner ?

There are following two error messages you might appear or receive relating to this problem.
"The scanner could not be initialized." or "The scanner is being accessed by another device."

Which error message are you getting ?

Try this ---
Press the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keys simultaneously. The task manager window will open. Check for the program called STIMON and HPSJVXD in the close program list. If not present , follow these steps:
Start --- Run --- type MSCONFIG.EXE --- OK.
Select the tab labeled Startup.
Check for HPSCANMonitor and StillImageMonitor and select OK.
Restart.

One of the workaround is to --- Make sure whether USB support is enabled in Windows Device Manager for all devices. To check this ---

My Computer --- right click --- select Properties --- select Device manager.
Scroll down to Universal serial bus controller entry and click the (+) plus sign.
Double-click the USB controller entry to enter its properties screen.
Select the Settings tab --- place a check mark Support non-complaint device box.
Click OK twice and restart.

First, verify whether cable, HP ScanJet scanner, operating system, and USB ports are configured properly. Next and most importantly verify whether USB is setup properly.

follow these steps:

Go to Start >> Programs >> Control Panel >> Select System >> Device Manager.
The list of all the device appears on the screen. From the device list, select Universal Serial Bus Controller. It should contain two subcategories: USB Root Hub, and PC's own specific serial USB chipset. If any of these lines are missing, a problem exists with the computer's USB configuration. In that case, you need to troubleshoot this problem by contacting your PC manufacturer, or the manufacturer of your USB card.
