Monitor problem power button won't work

Hello good morning

I have a DELL XPS computer system with S2409W 24" flat panel monitor with the system.it was working with out any problems until now.when i attempted to turn the monitor off via pressing the white, glowing, power button. i can't see any thing happen.now i realized the only way to turn off the monitor is to unplug it.when i shut down the system the screen go black and the power light go yellowish.. But i still can't press it to make the screen actually turn completely off.what is wrong with my monitor..please let me know more on this issue

Ok..you can't turn off your computer with the power button..and you are able to do it with unplugging the wire so definitely it is problem with the power button..may be some minor issues loose contact or circuit break sort of, else the power button may be damaged try to replace the same with authorized person

maybe the tactile pushbutton switch has become inoperative.Mass-produced electronics are more reliable now than ever, but if you are holding a bad one, it's just ridiculous as it was ten years ago. if you running on warranty just be glad it happened within the warranty

I also have the S2409W and don't have such problems. do you have a lemon unit with you? one of my friend has same monitor with him and he had a problem with the power button. he called Dell to report about the power button going dead, they sounded like it was a pretty common thing. The solution was easy though - next day replacement by courier. they provide on-site warranty service.
