PC Hanging when I connect usb

Friensds,
I have Sahara 096 Model Laptop ( 1.8 ). I installed Windows XP sp2 and drivers. Pc working fine... But the problem is when I try to connect a USB, pc is hanging and I could not move mouse also...

Pls give me an advise...

You may enabled the USB controllers from the motherboard's bios Setup settings, or done anything such as Installing the OS to the USB device? USB devices may not work properly when plugged into certain USB ports, and/or you may have an IRQ sharing problem you need to fix.

OR

Reformatted Your PC and need to reinstall the chipset drivers for your motherboard . You need at least service pack 1 installed to get it working .
