Voluntary suppression of the fan, is it dangerous?

Hi, I have an old computer that I recently hacked to use it as Media Center.
I removed some unnecessary metal parts, floppy drive, CD drive, 1 for 2 HDD and I have deliberately blocked the fan (with a pen ).

The volume of vacant housing is very large, the components (motherboard, hard drive and power) are spaced from each other and a piece of the box can be removed without problems.

However, I blocked the fan since it was extremely noisy and thus prevented the use of this PC as a Media Center (watching a movie next to a turbine is not very pleasant .

Is there a risk in the short or long term for components?

    Thank you.

    hi

Short term, you damage your processor or even the motherboard, the computer will detect overheating and will shut off automatically when the critical value set in the BIOS (~ 75 ° C) of the motherboard will be damaged.

a long term, you see your processor motherboard.

and since it is a pentium 3, it is quite old, these processors heats a lot, hence the requirement for a fan on the radiator.

The presence of a fan is required, but a P3 does not heat to temperatures frightening ...

No, what can be done is adding a series resistor of fan speed, and a processor underclocking not to overheat.

Should also know whether the fan of the trial or the case.
If this is the case, it is good, should be able to remove it. At worst, post a photo.
