Is there anyone who can tell me how much minimum percentage is required for a mechanical engineering candidate for the admission in the IITs? Is it basically based on good percantage for different IIT courses or if it is the same required for all? Also, if possible then please let me know about the details of different IIT institute. Thanks

I think that you are asking about the admission of M.Tech in IITs. If yes, then for getting into the IITs you will have to give the GATE exam first. If you have got a first class percentage in the Btech or Msc examination with a minimum percantage of 60% aggregate then you can go for GATE for further persuing in Mtech from IITs, IISC, NIT's etc.

There is a IIT JEE (Indian Institute of Technology) (Joint Entrance Examination) course that you can pursue for the admission to Btech. For applying you just need to complete your 12th standard examination from a recognized board with physics, chemistry and maths and then you will be eligible for IIT-JEE exam. Also you need to complete your 12th standard marks with an aggregate of 60% and above.
