Task Manager in Windows XP shows single core performance only on multicore system

I own a system that has Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 processor. It is a mobile cpu. I checked in Task Manager and found only a single core is listed. The performance chart does not offer different information on both the cores. I need some help here to find why this is happening. I checked all the settings but still the problem is same. There is no way by which I can get performance chart of different cores. Thanks.

There is nothing to worry much about that. The core is not utilized or the task manager is not having any option to display both of them. But still it is active in your system. You can try to use some third party performance measuring software. There are number of software like Task Manager available for Windows. Through that you can get the details on each cpu utilized.
