Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard 1.0A Ctrl key function

I have got a Microsoft Multimedia Keyboard with me which has a star on the ctrl key that shows concentric circles on the screen where the cursor is placed if the key is depressed. I want to disable that but I am unable to find where to reassign the same key. I normally use the same key to talk on web circulation and am not able to talk at this time and therefore have to type in all the responses. Can anyone tell me how to do that?

Can you click on Start and then go to Control Panel and then Mouse and then Pointer Options tab and then check under the visibility section to "Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key". Hope that helps.

Thank you very much for the suggestions, with your method I have solved the issue, but if I am using the program iVocalize4 then the Ctrl key is still freezing the computer, so what should I do for this kind of problem?
