Acer Scanner 4300U/3300U Installation

I have recently bought a new Toshiba Satellite Pro M70 laptop which is running on Windows XP with Service Pack 2. I have got a VuegoScan flatbed scanner which is similar to the Acer 4300U/3300U or Benq S2W 4300U scanned, and therefore I tried to install the latest scanned software update which was something called mirascan_v403u10b.exe that I have downloaded from the internet. But when I connected the scanner to the laptop then before installing the scanner software, Windows XP automatically detected the scanned and also installed all its driver. So, my question is should I install the scanner software that I downloaded from the net or not? Thanks for any suggestion.

Can you try to right click on my computer and then select Properties and then Hardware and then Device Manager and then go to Imaging Device. After that right click on it and select to uninstall. Now unplug the scanner and then restart the machine. After that installed the scanner software and then try to connect the scanner when it is telling you to do so. After that restart again and then your scanner drivers will be properly installed.
