    Hardware ID

I have a old desktop running with Windows XP. I just came here to get some general information. Can anyone please tell me what exactly is “Hardware ID” ? Also does it gets changed by adding or removing our hardware components?

    Re: Hardware ID

Hardware ID is just a Hardware hash code referring to your hardware and of course it gets changed when you change your hardware components. It is completely related to your hardware and nothing to do with operating system. It will not change even you format your system.

    Re: Hardware ID

The simplest definition of Hardware is the hardware deification. It is the only identity for manufacturers of your hardware products. You can google “Hardware ID” for the complete details about this or simply check the following URL: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd567990.aspx
