    SP3 - Access is denied

I am getting "Access Denied" error when I am trying to install the Service Pack 3 for Windows XP. When checking the error in the svcpack.log, then it has something to do with the missing rights on the registry, which is totally wrong since I am the Admin of my computer. I have given all the users full control on my registry but still I am getting this error? Can anyone please help, check the below error details:

Have you tried to check the below link on this article "Error message when you try to install WinXP SP3: "Access is denied" or “Service Pack installation did not complete”

You should know that unless you have installed SP1 you wont be able to install the Service Pack 3.

You might be having a access permission problem on registry, so try the below steps and check if it works or not:
    1. First of all open a file "setupai.log" at C:\windows (use notepad or WordPad)
    2. After that search a word for "denied"
    3. Now, you will find which key(s) is causing "Access denied" error.
    4. After that try to open "regedit.exe"
    5. You can now search for problem key(s).
    6. Now you need to check permission for problem key(s) and change "Administrators" permission to "Full Control"
    7. Now you can try to do SP3 update again.
