Check the article made on "Event ID: 7000" or "Event ID: 7013" Error Message When You Attempt to Start a Service" from the below link:

    Re: Event ID: 7000

Thanks for the reply, if I start the service manually then I am getting the message "Error 123: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect". In properties the filename is shown as - \SystemRoot\C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs? Can anyone tell me if this is proper?

Incase that is a paste of the path to svchost, then you want '%SystemRoot%/System32/'. So try to type this %SystemRoot%/System32/ by going to start and then run and see what that means.

What arrangements you have made for your antivirus and anti-spyware? Usually, the executable path for the Security Center service is C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs. So, go to Start > Control Panel > Administrator Tools > Services > Security Center and check startup type is automatic or not.

Thanks for the reply, I am actually using Norton Antivirus and I run spybot and adaware regularly as well as Defender. I am using ZA firewall. What does the security center do, is that what runs the windows firewall? Do you know how can I change the path back to the correct one? Thanks.

I didnt have to change it but you can try to select Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > Security Center and after that double click Security Center to open and try change the Path to Executable to C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs. You can find a Security Center icon in Control Panel and when you want to look at the status of different components.
