I’m having a desktop running with Windows XP 64bit and Windows Media Player 10.I installed Combined Community Codec Package to watch my video files. Now the problem I’m facing is thumbnails for all video files are not working on my Windows Media Player. I have several video files in a folder where only few AVI files are showing thumbnail. Several other AVI as well as videos in other formats such as .mkv, .ogm, or .mp4 are not showing the thumbnails.

Earlier I was using XP 32bit windows on this system and never had this problem ever. It started only since I installed 64bit. Any help would be appreciated.

It is not the problem of 64bit or 32 bit windows. Let me tell you that windows does not show many media types by default and even for avi if this uses codecs that are not installed some avi dont show thumbnails.Hence what you can do is install nero or any such similar video program with codecs in. This will make it to show the thumbnails.
