Help Please: 'STOP: c0021a {Fatal System Error} .......

Hi, I am using a HP laptop running with Windows XP SP2. Today morning when I booted up the system I suddenly received a BSOD for the first time since I bought this laptop a year ago. And since then I have received it 4 times so far. The Blue Screen appears with the following error code:

“STOP:c0021a {Fatal System Error} The Session Manager Initialization System process terminated unexpectedly with status of 0x000026c (0x00000000 0x00000000). The system has been shut down”

I personally don’t have any idea about this error code hence tried searching Google and MS Sites but dint found anything exactly with my error message. There are few but with different error codes. Hence I wish anyone from here can surely help me out with the same.

As far as i know ntoskrnl.exe or ntdll.dll files doesn't get replaced with 0xc000021a STOP error. Hence what you need to do is insert your XP installation CD, boot into XP recovery console. Now re verify version and date and time of ntoskrnl.exe and ntdll.dll.

You can also expand them from then SP2 install source and can be located under %windir%\servicepackfiles directory. See if it helps.

Thanks for the help Abdul. Hope you noticed that the status was listed as 0xc000026c. Isn't it different from the error code you listed in your message above, that is 0xc000021a? Let me post my complete error code again here:

“STOP:c0021a {Fatal System Error} The Session Manager Initialization System process terminated unexpectedly with status of 0x000026c (0x00000000 0x00000000). The system has been shut down”

Please provide some working solutions.

Hello JoeF, to me it seems like virus problem. Yes, there could be possibility of a virus replacing the MSGINA.DLL. Anyways i found an MS KB article which i think may help you fix the Blue screen. Just check out the following:
