Cannot add new printer... operation cannot be completed

Before posting this question I already searched the forum for my problem but dint found anything useful. Hence posting it again. So here is the situation. Last week I bought a complete set of new hardware including hard drive RAM, and mobo. Assembled and installed Windows XP Service Pack 2. Installed all required drivers and applications. So far no problem. But when I tried adding my Printer, I kept getting an error message saying “Operation cannot be completed.” That’s it. No more info about this issue.

First I thought this could be problem because of some spooler service or dll's issue. To fix the same I ran SFC but still getting the same error message. No help on internet as well. Finally I even reformatted and installed XP again but unfortunately the same problem.

No I don’t have any idea left. Can anyone here please help me out ? Many thanks.

RE: Cannot add new printer... operation cannot be completed

Here is a new update. I went to Services applet (services.msc) and set spooler service and RPC service to automatic. Still the problem is same. Let me also tell that I’m trying to setup a network printer, not the local printer.

    Please provide some help.
