They are same. It is one of the widely used image format available. You can use anything from it. But if you want to use it on the website you have to trim the size to minimum so that it can open at low internet bandwidth also. JPEG is a better choice in terms of file size. It gives you good output without lossing the quality of the image. The compression rate also depend on the same. Z

The benefit of using jpeg is that it offers you a nice output without loosing the image quality. The compression method used in the jpeg is far more effective on photographic images. So that colors and other things are not affected if you reduce the image size. There are tons of image converters available on the web. You can use them to get the best output.

Both are one and the same. You must use JPEG. It is not a image format but a kind of compression that allows you to resize your JPEG images without killing the quality. It is quiet lightweight and easy to use. Most of the camera gives you a direct jpeg output directly. It is also widely distributed on the web and much easier to share also.

For web pages mostly png files are used. Because they can take the background of other images. So it gives a better look on the pages. Jpeg is one of the most widely used format compare to bmp. So if you are having a very large number of image file it is recommended that you convert them completely to a readable format. I think that will work far more properly.

You must keep the raw files as backup. You can convert others to jpeg. Because here RAW will help you to extract a much better image through different software. Jpeg puts some impact on the image quality when you convert them. There is a problem is the output. It is reduced. There are some powerful tools like Adobe photoshop that helps you to fix the image to great extent, it does not matter what format it is.

RAW image contains the raw data from the sensor. Here it not right to say it as a image. The information in the file format is later on interpreted by software to make an image. In the case of JPEG, the software here add some effects and output a image format that lies common for all system. Jpeg is used and supported by number of software, web pages, etc. So you must use that.

JPG and JPEG are different file association. For understanding you will need to learn a bit more about JPEG. It will give you clear output on the compression format and how to use the same. Editing jpeg images is far more easier in any tool compare to RAW. Because a few number of software only read the same. If you are going with png the files will be a bit heavier compare to jpeg.

As it is mentioned above RAW file is the raw information that comes directly from the camera device. It will be right to say that this is like a negative of the image. Which we use to get in old camera to develop complete film. JPEG is developed to give maximum output with lowest fall in quality. On internet a number of wallpapers are shared in the form of jpeg only and there you can see the quality.

Image format only matters in terms of printing. While you can here share anything. If you go for png or other format then the size will be heavier. While jpeg is identified by many software. You can easily view the files in mobile phones or directly online in your mail. RAW is not a readable format. It is just the actual file from camera which has no file association in it.
