Failed to load resource dll error

Hi all, I am having a Toshiba Satellite laptop running with Windows XP. There is a small problem I’m noticing since past week. Whenever I turn on the laptop and right click the mouse for the first time on any icon, I get the following error message:

    "Failed to load resourde dll"

There use to be a button saying ‘close’ when I click the same error disappears and everything works fine. No matter if it right click after 5 minutes of desktop load, the error appears so it cannot be startup programs problem, right? Also that error appears only one time, on the first right click after start.

Any ideas what is going wrong?

Most probably that error message may occur if there is any failing shell extension. You can identify and fix that problem using the steps provided in the following article:

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers

Better go with the second method provided there. Hope it helps.

Re: Failed to load resource dll error

Like others since I changed from Yahoo messenger 10 to version 11 (on XP) the missing resource DLL appears.
Have taken the program off (using the program's uninstall) - used CCleaner and Glary etc.
Rather than messing with installing yahoo messenger 11 yet again - which seems to be yahoo's problem - is there a way to simply go to a web site?
