    Cdboot: Memory Overflow Error

I was using windows xp on my home desktop whose hard drive crashed recently I dint got restored even after so many attempts. Finally I bought a new 250GB hard drive, installed it properly on the system and tried to install windows. I changed the BIOS settings to boot from CD first. But when the screen reaches where it says “Boot from CD”, instead of this message it gives me an error message saying:

    Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM:
    1. No Emulation System Type-(00)
    CDBOOT: Memory Overflow Error
    Invalid system Disk

Any idea what is causing this problem? There is no doubt about my CD, I checked it on another computer and it is working fine. I tried to search this error on Google and Microsoft sites as well but dint found it anywhere. Somebody please help me out. I need to install Windows.

Do yoiu have both CD drive and DVD drive on your system? If yes, then just ensure that you are using the 1st physical device (according to physical hookup). Or if you do have both, then try booting with CD in other drive. See if it helps. reply back with the results.
