    STOP: 0x00000044 MULTIPLE_IRP_COMPLETE_REQUESTS

I am having a Dell Latitude D400 system. I found a base system device in Device Manager. Event after installing drivers through windows update it does not change. There are number of hardware listed as Base System Driver. I am not able to find the real drive from web. Later on I tried to install a Texas Instruments PCI 7510/4510 CardbusController with SmartCard. I found a driver on web. When I ran the setup windows crashed instantly.

That is a driver bug. Due to which you are getting blue screen. Try windows update and official site only. If it does not work leave the hardware as it is. It is simply complicated to find the right drivers that works really well in Windows XP for old devices. And if you cannot find anything in Windows update then just leave it.

The hardware which you had mentioned in your system is not working properly. Due to which you are facing the issue. So the best thing you can do is simply try to update drivers which is quiet enough to fix the issue. For that there are two options. First you can try running Windows Update through which it is possible to get the drivers. And the second options is installing the driver manually from the web. Depending on your system model you can go on the official website and download all latest drivers. Just re-install each of them one by one over each other and check back.

It is a driver bug. Some incompatible hardware is causing the issue. First thing you can do is run system restore. So that you can get the old working settings back. This work most of the time. I use this one commonly whenever my system has any error associated with crashing. You just go ahead with running system restore which is more than enough to fix the system and make it stable. If that also does not work then you have to disable that hardware. You can do that in Device Manager. The blue-screen will stop.
