scanjet 3300C problem

I am using Windows XP from last 1 year or so and the scanner and camera wizard is working properly when I press the left button of the scanner. Last 2-3 days ago my HP scanner scanjet 3300C was not working. When I used to start it, then for sometime it will run but immediately after that it started giving me error message stating 'an undefined program error has occurred'. I just booted and then restarted the scanner and camera wizard will finally give the same message at the point of Preview. Can anyone help me with this issue?

It looks to me that there might be some conflict between the Scanjet 3300c drivers and those used by the Windows Image Acquisition in the operating system. Incase they both are trying to work at the same time, then the scanner will not work. So, what you need to do is turn off Windows Image Acquisition, just go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > WIA > (Right-click) Properties > Disable > Apply. After that restart your pc and your scanner will work fine.

One thing was confusing though: WIA is not a TLA so look for the full expression.
