    Keyboard error

I read that someone else had a problem when Startup Error code 0xc0000001 in my XP came up. Despite my trying to restart the computer in safe mode, it wouldn't. I checked out F2 and when I got to Event log viewer, it told me there was a 'post error' and 'keyboard error'.

I then tried to start my computer using the 'restore' cd which came with the computer but when I got to the last page asking whether I wanted to proceed with windows setup (press 'enter'); restore (press 'R'); exit (press esc), I could not get any of these to work from my keyboard or mouse. Going back to my Event log error, do you think there is something wrong with my keyboard?
