    can't watch online video

I'm trying to watch the video of a CBS show. I get a dark window on my screen
with the message "the video you have requested is either unavailable or is
being blocked by an Ad blocker installed in your browser". I'm unaware of any
ad blocker and can't seem to find one. All I can find is stuff about pop-up
blockers. I tried tweaking Tools/Internet Options, but nothing I did made any
difference. Does anyone know what setting I should change?

Try opening windows media player, locate tools, options, check the box
"connect to the internet",open file types tab, click on the button "select
    all",
apply, close out tools.Locate "Help",click on "check for player updates"..

Sorry, but I can't find tools and options on my Windows Media Player. All I
see is Now Playing, Burn, Sync, etc. Where do I look for the tools?

I did download WM 11, but that in itself didn't solve my problem.

Sorry, but I can't find Tools and Options on my WMP. Where are they? I did
update to WMP 11, but that didn't seem to solve my problem.

The same thing happened to me because I use a Hosts file and it prevents
the loading of tracking cookies. It seems like the biggest offender on
that CBS site is Doubleclick. You can temporarily disable the Hosts file
(assuming you have the same issue) by doing the following:

    1. Close IE.
    2. Empty Temporary Internet Files and Cookies
    3. Open this folder:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
    4. Make sure you can view file extensions (*) and rename hosts to
    something like hosts.off.

I know it's a PITA. Perhaps there's an app that allows a fast toggle
    on/off.

    (*) In Windows Explorer,
Tools | Folder Options | View
Make sure the box next to "Hide extensions for known file types" is
    unchecked.

That was it, all right! I'd totally forgotten I use a Hosts file blocker.
I'll turn it off temporarily to watch the video and then reinstate it. Thanks
    so much!

Tried this. It is found under Sync on the new player. But it did not work for me. What did work was that I had added on Adobe Air but have not updated in awhile. So I loaded the latest Adobe Air and then updated as well. It now works fine.
Wish the folks at CBS would alert its viewers to this type of problem and the resolution.
