Stop Error 0x0000008E (0xC000005) WIN32K.SYS - Address BF803E1A

In my computer, the antivirus 2009 virus was found couple of weeks ago. So, I installed Spybot and Lavasoft's Ad-aware to check for spyware. The computer crashed at the time of spybot scanning. After restarting the computer I was getting blue screen Stop Error 0x0000008E (0xC000005) WIN32K.SYS - Address BF803E1A just before Windows XP is about to start. I then tried to log into safe mode and last good config. I even tried Chkdsk /r and peformed a repair using the Windows XP CD but nothing has so far solved the problem. I found an article to repair the registry, which was given here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545. It worked fine and after login to Windows I noticed that I have lost all my user settings and different errors are displayed when XP starts. So, can anyone tell me how to repair the old registry files? Thanks

Can you try to run another repair, even though it seems you have format and reinstall from the start, until someone comes with the proper solution for this problem.

You can use the Windows Error Reporting tool to send the error report directly to Microsoft, and the tool reports back if a fix or a workaround is available. To use this tool, follow these steps:

1. When you are prompted to send the error report to Microsoft, click Send Error Report.
2. If a fix or a workaround is available, click More Information to obtain the fix or to obtain information about how to resolve the issue.
