Wasn't sure where to post as I can't fine a Windows 7 section. I recently purchased a new 1TB 2.5inch HDD for my HP laptop. It is a Samsung SpinPoint M8 HN-M640MBB, it appealed to me because I was tired of always carrying around my large external 1TB HDD that is now already full of music and photography. I replaced my old HDD in my laptop no problem, did a clean install of windows 7, the drivers installed perfectly and there was no problems initially for a day or two. Then one evening it just froze up and BSOD. KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR showed up on my screen, from what I gathered it was from bad sectors on the HDD so I swapped back in my old HDD plugged in my Samsung one and ran a disk check, no errors came up, I then contacted Samsung support, downloaded there tools pack, again no errors have appeared and the weird thing is that the Samsung spinpoint works fine externally plugged in as just an external device and not a internal device O_o
